This final weekend will firstly include the required foundational movement and strength-based training summative practical assessments, followed by our one-day Olympic weightlifting workshop, introducing practitioners to the Olympic lifts, their performance training benefits and their applications within S&C. Coaches are introduced to the snatch, clean and jerk classic lifts and their derivatives (e.g. hang and power variations, etc.) using a reverse engineering coaching process, with the final aim being that coaches understand the key principles of each lift, how to implement the lifts within performance programming and how to develop their own Olympic weightlifting competency.
